GARDEN CITY, n.y. – Playing in its second match in less than 24 hours, the Merrimack College women's tennis team travelled to Long Island and knocked off Adelphi University, the defending Northeast-10 Conference champions, 6-3 to wrap up a three-match week for the Warriors.

How It Happened (Doubles)
- No. 1 – Senior Grace Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) and sophomore Mana Seifaei (North York, Ontario) ensured the Warriors led entering singles with an 8-5 victory over Adelphi's top doubles pairing
- No. 2 – The Panthers salvaged one point entering singles with an 8-0 triumph over juniors Mackenzie Blair (Thomaston, Conn.) and Danielle Dunn (Middleton, Mass.)
- No. 3 – Sophomore Lauren Persson (Barnstable, Mass.) and freshman Mia Briggs (York, Maine) captured Merrimack's first point of the day with an 8-2 victory at third doubles, their second win in as many days
How It Happened (Singles)
- No. 1 – Messina continued her dominance at first singles with another straight-set win to begin the year (6-2, 6-2)
- No. 2 – Seifaei faltered for the first time this season, dropped a two-set match at second singles
- No. 3 – After seven games in the opening set of No. 3, Persson prevailed due to retirement as Karen Serina could not continue play
- No. 4 – The Panthers picked up their third and final point of the match with an 8-2 win
- No. 5 – Merrimack's depth proved prominent in the match as Blair improved to 3-0 on the season, including two wins at fifth singles, with a 6-2, 6-4 victory against Vanja Savic
- No. 6 – Last but not least, Briggs capped off a superb collegiate debut with her third singles victory of the week, in straight-set fashion, over Maria Bruzon Gutierrez (6-2, 6-2)
