NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Looking for the program's third win in a row, the Merrimack College field hockey team invades third-ranked Saint Anselm on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. from Grappone Stadium in Manchester, N.H.
Last Time Out:
- Senior midfielder Taylor Simpson (York, Maine) became the fourth Warrior in program history with 100 career points, contributing a seven-point performance with three goals and one assist in Friday's 4-1 win at Saint Michael's
- Classmate Rylie Hammond (Phillipston, Mass.) added Merrimack's other tally, notching her team-leading 10th goal of the season. Juniors Mary McNeil (Canton, Mass.) and Delaney Yule (Southbury, Conn.) contributed points as well, dishing out an assist each
- Sophomore goalkeeper Katharina Ohmen (Bremen, Germany) posted a nine-save effort in her seventh win of the season
Mack Facts:
- Simpson now boasts 102 career points. She joined April Daugherty '12 (159), Candace Waldie '13 (119) and Jen Otis '12 (113) as members of the 100-point club, ranking fourth in school history
- She also joined the three aforementioned alumni by passing the 40-goal mark. With seven goals on the year, Simpson now has 41 for her career. She trails Otis and Waldie by six goals for second all-time
- With 21 points on the year, Hammond is also knocking the door of the 100-point club, needing six more to join the exclusive group
Inside the Series:
- Saint Anselm and Merrimack will meet in a rematch of last season's Northeast-10 Conference semifinal matchup, which saw the Hawks emerge with a 1-0 victory
- Merrimack won the regular-season matchup, 4-1, and has prevailed in 11 of the last 12 contests dating back to 2009
