NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The No. 18/18 Merrimack College men's basketball program will look to rebound after suffering its first defeat of the season on Sunday when the Warriors return to Northeast-10 Conference play Tuesday night against Southern New Hampshire at 7:30 p.m.

Last Time Out:

  • The Warriors downed the host LIU Post Pioneers, 75-62, to open the tournament before a 98-79 loss to Bridgeport Sunday in the finale
  • Sophomore point guard Juvaris Hayes (Paterson, N.J.) earned NE10 Co-Player of the Week honors after averaging 20.0 points, 9.0 assists, 7.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game last week. Hayes scored a career-high 30 points on 12-of-16 shooting against the Purple Knights on Sunday
  • Junior Ryan Boulter (Mansfield, Mass.) led four double-figure scorers on Saturday with 25 points, sinking 5-of-7 three-point attempts
Team Leaders:
  • Boulter leads the Warriors and ranks fifth in the NE10 with 19.4 points per game. His 20 three-pointers are the most among any NE10 shooting, ranking sixth nationwide in triples
  • Hayes sits atop the NE10 leaderboard and is second nationwide with 98 assists. His 9.8 helpers per outing average is tied for first in the country
  • As a team, the Warriors boast the fourth-best scoring defense in the conference (70.0 points allowed). Merrimack also coughs the ball up the least in the NE10, committing just 9.8 turnovers per game
The Penmen:
  • The undefeated Penmen have won three of their four games by five points of less, with the outlier being a 19-point victory in their NE10 opener against Saint Michael's
  • Graduate student Chris Walters returned as one of the top players in the conference, and is currently averaging a near double-double of 20.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game
  • Two other Penmen join Walters with scoring averages in double figures, with junior Daquaise Andrews (18.5 ppg) and senior Dimitri Floras (18.3 ppg) each among the top-10 scorers in the conference
The Series:
  • The Navy and Gold have lost their last three trips to SNHU, with the program's last road win in Manchester coming during the 2014-15 season
  • Merrimack upset the Penmen when they were nationally ranked, 94-78, in last season's contest at Hammel Court
