Men's Tennis Downs Connecticut College, 6-3
NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Merrimack College men's tennis team began its five-game run through spring break with a 6-3 week against Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon

How It Happened (Doubles)
- No. 1 – Senior Nick Majewski (Brewster, Mass.) and sophomore Mikhail Belov (Krasnoarmeyskoy, Russia) took Merrimack's lone point during the doubles segment with a 8-6 victory at the top flight
- No. 2 – At second doubles, junior Frank Vega (Lima, Peru) and freshman Alex Fedorov (Guilderland, N.Y.) trotted out, but were doubled up by their opposition from the Camels, 8-4
- No. 3 – Senior Tayyab Sheikh (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and sophomore Alex Slobin (Fairfield, Conn.) teamed together at No. 3 and battled through 14 games before falling by a two-game margin, 8-6
How It Happened (Singles)
- No. 1 – The Warriors' lineup came through during singles, with Merrimack winning five of six matches. Below rebounded from a loss two weeks ago to dispatch his opponent in straight sets, 6-2 and 6-4
- No. 2 – Vega rebounded from his doubles downfall and also won a two-set match at second singles by the vice versa of set scores compared to Belov, 6-4 and 6-2
- No. 3 – Majewski lost a total of four combined games in his singles match, prevailing by a 6-2 and 6-2 final
- No. 4 – Fedorov improved to 2-0 this spring in his rookie campaign with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph over the Camels' Will Cannon
- No. 5 – Scott Brown took Connecticut's lone singles point with a two-set victory over Merrimack's Sheikh
- No. 6 – Slobin capped off a strong performance for the Navy and Gold by winning his frames by a 6-3, 6-3 final over the Camels' Patrick Farrell
