NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – With the team off to an 11-5 start to the 2017 season, head coach Elaine Schwager of the Merrimack College softball team earned her 300th career coaching victory this week during action at the Spring Games in Clermont, Florida.

Schwager garners the milestone in her third season of her second stint as head coach of the softball team, having enjoyed a successful six-year run with the program from 2006-2011. She was named the Northeast-10 Conference Coach of the Year in 2009, and led the Warriors to the NCAA Super Regionals and an NCAA East Region 1 Championship in 2011.

Schwager's 300th win came in the first game of a doubleheader with reigning NE10 Champion Pace in Florida on Wednesday morning with the Warriors cruising to a 9-0 rout of the Setters, needing just five innings to earn the victory. The win put her career record at 300-309.

Schwager and the Warriors conclude their time in Florida on Saturday with games against Bloomsburg (11:30 a.m.) and Bemidji State (2:00 p.m.)
