GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – The Merrimack College women's lacrosse team fell to the No. 1 team in the country, Adelphi University, on Saturday in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup at Motamed Field.

• Merrimack limited the fourth-ranked offense in the nation to just three goals midway through the opening half, but Adelphi struck for three more in a two-minute span and then added another trio of tallies to take a 9-0 lead into the break.
• The Panthers scored five more times in the first 10 minutes of the second half, building their lead to 14.
• Junior Annette Ruggiero (Peabody, Mass.) got the Warriors on the board with her 16^th goal of the season at the 18:48 mark.
• The Panthers, however, would close out the contest with four more goals to wrap things up.
