NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's volleyball program played in its first home Northeast-10 Conference match of the season on Friday afternoon, suffering a 3-0 defeat to the visiting Stonehill College Skyhawks from Hammel Court.

Set Breakdown
- Set 1: Stonehill controlled the first half of the opening frame, but a 3-0 run ignited by a kill from freshman Karina Anderson (Harrison, Ohio) brought the Warriors within three, 16-13. With the score at 18-14, the Skyhawks used a 6-0 spurt to pull ahead by 10 before winning the game, 25-15
- Set 2: The visitors won 11 of the first 14 points, forcing the Warriors to use a timeout early in the second set. The Warriors proceeded to win seven of 11 points later in the set to cut their deficit to six, 22-16, including two straight kills for sophomore setter Rosie Sperduto (Brentwood, Tenn.). Stonehill's lead did not dip below five, however, as the Skyhawks went ahead by two sets
- Set 3: For the second straight night, the Navy and Gold played their best in the third set. Facing a 9-6 hole, the hosts ripped off three unanswered points behind a kill from junior Sofia Basauri (Beaverton, Ore.) and an ace for Sperduto. Stonehill responded with a 5-0 run that proved to be the game-deciding stretch as the visitors never relinquished the lead from there.
