EASTON, Mass. – The Merrimack College men's soccer team will travel to Stonehill College on Tuesday afternoon in NE10 play at Skyhawk Field for a 4 p.m. kickoff.

Last Time Out:

  • The Warriors were able to salvage a 3-3 tie against American International College, after trailing by three times in the contest. After going behind in the opening minutes of the game, sophomore Aasmund Joedahl (Ridabu, Norway) knotted the game in the 16th minute, firing a rebound into the open net.
  • Aftrer falling behind again, freshman Filippo Begliardi Ghidini (Ravenna, Italy) tied the game on a free kick from 19 yards out. After a late strike by the Yellow Jackets, it was up to Joedahl again, this time on a PK with three minutes remaining. His shot went to the upper right-hand corner.
Last Season/Inside the series vs. Stonehill
  • The Warriors defeated the Skyhawks, 2-0, last year at home. Senior Juan Meza (Cali, Columbia) and Joedahl each tallied in the contest, while junior Lars Sund (Stavanger, Norway) picked up two assists.
  • Merrimack has a 16-3 all-time record against Stonehill, and have won the last four contests by a combined score of 9-0. Meza has two goals against the Skyhawks.
  • Senior keeper Lucas Rezende (Weymouth, Mass.) has boasted a 0.61 goals-against average, to go along with five shutouts, tying a career-high.
  • Joedahl is tied for fourth in league play with six points.
The Skyhawks:
  • Stonehill comes in with a 4-4-1 overall record and a 1-3 NE10 record. The lone conference win came against AIC on Sept. 16. The Skyhawks last contest was against nationally-ranked Southern New Hampshire University, which ended in a 4-2 loss.
  • Adam Branco leads the Skyhawks with 15 points (5g, 5a). He is tied for fourth in conference play with six points.  
  • Conor McDonough has started all nine contests in net and has posted a 1.74 goals-against- average.

Up Next
Merrimack returns home on Saturday, Sept. 30 to host the Dolphins of Le Moyne College at Martone-Mejail Field for a 12 p.m. kickoff.
