Non-League Tilt at SNHU Awaits Women’s Volleyball Tuesday Night (7 p.m.)

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's volleyball program plays its first of two non-conference matches this week when the Warriors travel to Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. match from the SNHU Fieldhouse.

Last Time Out:
  • The Warriors capped off a four-match in three-day stretch on Saturday with a 3-1 win at Nyack
  • Junior libero Amanda Cain (Melrose, Mass.) led three players in double figures and set a career high with 26 digs in the four-set contest. Junior Christina Nye (Plaistow, N.H.) collected 17 digs, while sophomore setter Rosie Sperduto (Brentwood, Tenn.) added 10
  • Merrimack improved to 2-0 this season when Sperduto  doubles up as the Warriors' facilitator contributed a match-high 39 assists
  • Junior outside hitter Katelynn Marr (Franklin, Mass. ) led the offense with 16 points on 13 kills and three service aces. The third-year Warriors totaled a team-best 10 aces last week, including a career-high four to start Saturday against Holy Family
'Mack Facts:
  • Freshman Karina Anderson (Newbury Park, Calif.) continues to develop as a rookie, notching 13 kills on 25 attacks with three errors for a .400 attack percentage during Saturday's tri-match
  • Senior Mary Kate McCarroll (Harrison, Ohio) maintained her team lead with 113 kills and 2.57 kills per set. McCarroll's 145.0 points and 23 aces also lead the team
  • Nye's 165 digs for an average of 3.75 per set still lead the team, as she has displayed her versatility by playing on both the outside and as the Warriors' libero this season
Inside the Series:
  • The Warriors have won four of their last five matches including a split of last season's contests
  • McCarroll registered nine kills, Nye posted 13 digs and sophomore Catherine Flaherty (North Andover, Mass.) posted a team-best .467 hitting percentage in Merrimack's win last season, which came at the SNHU Fieldhouse
