MANCHESTER, N.H. – Junior
Mary McNeil (Canton, Mass.) collected five points on two goals and one assist, igniting a run of four unanswered goals for the Merrimack College field hockey program as the Warriors roared past Southern New Hampshire, 4-1, on Tuesday evening in a Northeast-10 Conference battle from Larkin Field.

- In the 18th minute, the Penmen broke in on a two-on-one, and converted the scoring opportunity to take a 1-0 lead
- On the Warriors' sixth corner of the half, Merrimack equalized. The ball found junior Mary McNeil (Canton, Mass.) in the center of the attacking zone, and she delivered a feed to senior Rylie Hammond (Phillipston, Mass.) who deflected the pass into the open frame to tie the game
- Sophomore goalkeeper Katharina Ohmen (Bremen, Germany) came up strong in the 33rd minute, making consecutive saves to keep the game tied
- After Ohmen started the second half with a kick save in the 36th minute, the Warriors gained possession, moved down the field and scored the go-ahead tally. Senior Taylor Simpson (York, Maine) dished a pass to McNeil who buried her second goal of the night
- The combination of freshman Colleen Ellis (Westford, Mass.) and sophomore Lindsey Nolte (Canton, Mass.) led to Merrimack's third goal, with the rookie doubling the lead
- McNeil would not go quietly as she struck again with less than 15 minutes to play to put Merrimack's fourth goal on the board

Notes and Notables
- McNeil's five-point performance marks the most for the junior since a six-point effort last year against Southern Connecticut. The All-American now has nine points on three goals and three assists on the year
- Simpson picked up her team-leading fifth assist of 2017, increasing her four-year point total to 96. The fourth-year attacker is on pace to become the fourth Warrior with 100 career points
- Nolte's helper registered as the first assist of the sophomore's career
