NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Coming off its first win of the year on Wednesday, the ninth-ranked Merrimack College field hockey program plays in its home opener on Friday night when the Warriors host Franklin Pierce University at 7 p.m. from Martone-MeJail Field.  

Student Giveaway:
  • The first 50 students in attendance at Friday night's field hockey contest will receive a team schedule poster courtesy of the athletics department
Last Time Out:
  • Senior Taylor Simpson (York, Maine) and senior Rylie Hammond (Phillipston, Mass.) accounted for the first-half scoring, with Hammond netting a two-goal performance
  • Hammond's first goal was a tip-in, as the fourth-year Warriors deflected a shot off the stick of junior Delaney Yule (Southbury, Conn.). She added a second with just four seconds to play in the first half, striking a rising shot that escaped the Bentley keeper
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Katharina Ohmen (Bremen, Germany) posted a 13-save effort, including nine in the second half, to keep the Falcons from scoring an equalizer. It marked the second-most saves in a single game in her young career
'Mack Facts:
  • Simpson'moved into third place all-time at Merrimack in career points (87), and is on pace to become the fourth member of Merrimack's 100-point club this season
  • Moving up in Merrimack's record book as well, Hammond's first goal of the year increased her career total to 32, the sixth-most in Warriors history
  • Ohmen's .840 save percentage currently ranks third in the NE10 through three contests

  • Through 20 meetings, Merrimack owns a 15-5 advantage over Franklin Pierce
