NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's basketball program will look to pick up its second road victory of cross-divisional play this weekend when the Navy and Gold face off against Le Moyne College at 1 p.m. out in Syracuse, N.Y. The Warriors have been particularly effective away from campus this season, bringing their 6-2 road record into Ted Grant Court.

Last Time Out:
  • In a contest classified as a "game of runs", the Warriors stared down an early deficit, 20-6, after using their second timeout of the night just three minutes into the second quarter
  • From there, however, the Warriors went on a 21-8 run over the remainder of the quarter to cut their hole down to one at halftime, and outscored the Panthers by nine in the third quarter to take a 48-40 lead to the final frame
  • Holding a 59-50 advantage with just over two minutes remaining, Merrimack could not hold on as Adelphi ended the game on a 13-1 run to complete the final run of the night, leaving Hammel Court with a 63-60 win
  • Junior Lindsay Werner (Groton, Mass.) hit six three-pointers to finish with a game-high 21 points. Sophomore Denia Davis-Stewart (Dorchester, Mass.) added her third double-double in six games with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while tying her season high with seven blocks
  • Junior point guard Karlee Alves (Ellington, Conn.) notched 10 assists, her fourth time reaching double figures in the last seven games
'Mack Facts:
  • Tuesday's loss did not impact Merrimack's spot in the Northeast-10 Conference standings, with the Warriors remaining in fifth place in the Northeast Division. Le Moyne currently sits in fourth in the Southwest Division
  • Werner pulled ahead of Adelphi's Fallyn Stephens for the league lead in three-pointers made, knocking in 47 through 15 games. She ranks 15th nationwide with 3.13 three-pointers made per game, and is on pace to break the Warriors' program record of 62 triples made in a single season set during the 2002-03 season
  • Davis-Stewart is already flying up the national and conference rankings in rejections. The second-year center ranks third in the NE10 in total blocks (28), which is among the top-40 nationwide. If she qualified, Davis-Stewart would lead the conference in blocks per game (4.67)
  • Alves – the NE10's leader in assists per game (6.9) and steals per game (3.1) – ranks third and 17th nationwide, respectively, in those statistics. She is 11 points and two steals away for setting new career highs, while she has nearly doubled her sophomore season's assist total with 11 games still to play
The Dolphins
  • Boasting the conference's reigning Rookie of the Year, Le Moyne enters tomorrow's tilt with nine victories through 15 contests and a 5-4 NE10 ledger. Due to a loss early this season to Adelphi, Le Moyne ranks in fourth in the Southwest
  • Sophomore McKayla Roberts paces Le Moyne with 14.1 points per game, 61 total assists and 35 three-pointers made, building off a freshman season that ended with major hardware for the floor general
  • Le Moyne joins Merrimack in the middle of the pack in the NE10 in terms of scoring offense, averaging one less point per game than the Warriors (63.3). Defensively, the Dolphins employ the second-best scoring defense in the Southwest, allowing just  58.0 points per contest
The Series:
  • Merrimack holds an 18-15 advantage in the all-time series against Le Moyne through 33 games
  • Behind a 13-point 10-rebound effort from Davis-Stewart, the Navy and Gold thumped the Dolphins last season, 68-48
  • The last meeting in the Syracuse was decided in the final seconds as Le Moyne hit the game-winning field goal with seven seconds left
