NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Aiming for a return to .500 in Northeast-10 Conference play entering the second-half of its divisional schedule, the Merrimack College women's basketball program hosts the College of Saint Rose on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hammel Court in Merrimack's last game this season against the Southwest Division.

Student Giveaway:
  • The first 100 students at Saturday's game will receive a free mini-hoop set courtesy of the Athletics Department, the first of four giveaways this semester! Giveaways will only be available while supplies last, and a student will receive one giveaway per Mack Card
Last Time Out:
  • Behind a 26-4 run in the third quarter that featured 17 unanswered points to end the stretch, the Warriors came away with a victory at American International on Tuesday, the preseason favorites in the Soutwhest
  • Junior Lindsay Werner (Groton, Mass.) finished with a game-high 29 points to lead the Merrimack offense. The third-year guard hit eight shots, four of which were from beyond the arc. Werner also went 9-of-11 from the free-throw line
  • Senior Denia Davis-Stewart (Dorchester, Mass.) nearly collected another double-double with eight points and 10 rebounds, while recording all five of Merrimack's blocks
'Mack Facts:
  • Record Watch: Werner now has 54 three-pointers, needing nine more to break Merrimack's single-season record for three-point field goals, set by Christina Siragua in the 2002-03 season. The shooting guard needs just two on Saturday to set a new career high
  • Davis-Stewart has moved into a tie for second in total blocks in the conference with 38, despite only playing in eight games. Her 4.5 blocks per game average, if she qualified, would rank second nationwide
  • Junior Karlee Alves (Ellington, Conn.) league-leading assist total and assists per game average rest at 113 and 6.3, respectively. She ranks among the top-10 nationwide in both categories. Alves' 3.1 steals per game and 55 total thefts also lead the conference.
  • With Saint Anselm off on Saturday, the Warriors have a chance to pull within one of the Hawks with a win over Saint Rose. Merrimack currently has a two-game lead for fifth place in the division
The Golden Knights:
  • Saint Rose has a 4-3 record against the Northeast Division entering its finale against Merrimack Saturday
  • The Golden Knights had their three-game winning streak snapped in their last game, a 89-58 loss to Saint Anselm
  • Saint Rose is in a three-way deadlock for third place in the Southwest Division, with the top-two programs tied for the division lead at 8-5
  • Three members of the Golden Knights' lineup average in double figures, led by 11.6 points per outing for Ashley Vanderwall. Karissa Birthwright is one of two Golden Knights to start all 19 games this season, leading the team in rebounding (5.9/gm) and ranking second in scoring (10.8)
The Series:
  • The Warriors met the Golden Knights in non-conference play in December, winning by an 83-70 final. The Navy and Gold broke the game open by scoring 27 fourth-quarter points
  • Werner tied her career high with 32 points in the game while Davis-Stewart posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds
  • In 27 all-time meetings, the Golden Knights hold a 15-12 edge, which includes Merrimack's win earlier this season
  • Prior to December's win, Merrimack had last beat Saint Rose in the 2014-15 season, a 22-point win in Albany (81-59)
