The team's traded points before Assumption took a slight 19-16 advantage, only to see the hosts take three consecutive points to tie the set again. The Greyhounds had the last laugh, however, winning the next five points and six of the final seven to win the opener, 25-20
- Merrimack took a 6-4 lead in the second after consecutive kills from freshman Sophie Meyers. Assumption edged out in front, 16-14, but points for Flaherty and Meyers evened the frame again. The set sat at a 22-22 deadlock before the Warriors ended the set on a 3-0 spurt, with Marr notching a kill and consecutive errors from the Greyhounds giving Merrimack a 25-22 win
- Assumption jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the third set, controlling the frame throughout. With the Greyhounds ahead, 21-12, the Warriors won three straight points to force an Assumption timeout and claimed eight of the next 15 points overall to trim their deficit to three, 23-20. The Greyhounds ended the comeback by winning the final two points to move within one set of winning the match
- Flaherty notched three of Merrimack's first five points as the Warriors opened a 5-4 advantage, but the Greyhounds won five of the next set to force a timeout by the hosts. A 4-0 spurt turned a 12-10 frame into a 16-10 advantage for the visitors, which proved too much to overcome. Merrimack was able to stave off three match points, closing within three, 24-21, following Flaherty's 15th kill of the night.
