NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Coming off their third straight Northeast 10 Conference win, the Merrimack women's soccer team looks to make it four straight as they take on Assumption Wednesday night on the road.

Last Time Out:
  • The Warriors came out with the same intensity as they have in the last two Northeast 10 Conference matchups, but it was the Chargers who struck early to halt the momentum. Just 12 minutes in, Grace Scorcia bent a ball over Merrimack sophomore keeper Megan Langlois for her first career goal. Initially looking to be a cross inside the box, the shot carried into the back of the net.
  • The Chargers fought off Merrimack through the first 45 minutes, and outshot the Warriors 6-5 in the first half.
  • Game-pace picked up in the second half for the Warriors. Frantically looking for the equalizer, it was sophomore Bridget Austin who started the rally. Her first goal in a Merrimack uniform was undoubtedly one of the most important of the season, and it came with just 22 minutes left in the game. The Warriors forced a corner in the 68th minute, and the cross in from senior Amber Gustafson was headed into the back of the net from the sophomore midfielder.
  • Junior Erin Fulton made a pair of big saves in the final 20 minutes of action, and for the fifth time this season, an NE10 team took the Warriors into overtime.
  • Merrimack fired off a series of shots through the first ten minutes of free soccer, but the horn sounded for another ten minutes of overtime; the Warriors only needed three minutes to take home the road victory. Amber Gustafson sent a ball inside the six, trying to connect with senior Taylor Cogliano. New Haven netminder Paige Davis didn't handle the through ball cleanly, and Cogliano kept her run through the box; the run finished with the ball on her feet, and a wide-open net for the game-winner.
