Five Things To Know
  • Merrimack picked up its first league win of the season last Saturday when it took down No. 13/15 Boston University at home by a 4-0 margin. The victory saw four different Warriors light the lamp, while senior Craig Pantano recorded his second shutout in a three-game span with 34 saves to account for Merrimack's first-ever shutout win against BU in school history.
  • Prior to Saturday's win, every game Merrimack had played was decided by one goal. Only New Hampshire has played in as many one-goal games (4) as Merrimack has.
  • Juniors Tyler Irvine and Logan Coomes both share the team lead with five points apiece; the former has done so on the strength of a team-high two goals, and he has at least one point in all but one game. Coomes' four assists are most on the team, and he, too, has scored at least one point in four of five games.
  • Fewer goalies nationwide have been better than Pantano recently; over the last three games, he is 2-1-0 with two shutouts, a .958 save percentage and a 1.29 goals against average. He ranks in the top-10 nationally in both categories.
  • Since the start of 2007, Merrimack owns a 10-2-2 record at home against the Minutemen, including a 5-3 victory on Homecoming Weekend last October.
