Tuesday's game marked Merrimack's last for over a week as the Warriors return to action next Wednesday at Stonehill

- SNHU used a 15-2 fourth-quarter run to take control of the night. Merrimack led, 47-40, with 9:19 to go before the 13-point swing lasted the next five minutes of the game. The Penmen shot over 50 percent (6-11) during the run, which brought the score to 55-49 with just 4:29 to play

- The defenses dominated the first 10 minutes, with the two programs combining for just 21 points. The Penmen held an early 6-2 lead through the first 5:03, but the Warriors closed the quarter on a 9-4 spurt to take an 11-10 edge in the second quarter. Junior Denia Davis-Stewart finished the quarter with three blocks, while sophomore Alyssa Casey hit a late left-wing trey that gave Merrimack the lead
- Another low-scoring quarter ensued in the second frame. The Penmen went ahead, 18-15, at the 5:30 mark, but then neither team scored until the 2:37 mark of the second. The Warriors faced a 22-19 deficit with just 10 seconds left, but senior Karlee Alves drilled a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to tie the game at halftime (22-22)
- The Warriors started the third quarter on an 11-4 run, spanning the first seven minutes of the frame. During that time, Merrimack's defense held SNHU to 18 percent shooting (2-11).
- The Warriors hit consecutive triples to star the quarter as freshman Mayson Kimball and Alves each sank one. After SNHU's run, Kimball hit consecutive layups to pull Merrimack within two, 55-53, with 3:21 remaining. The Warriors' comeback halted there, however, as Merrimack did not hit a field goal over the remainder of the contest
Notes and Numbers
- Three Warriors finished in double figures led by 16 points from senior guard Lindsay Werner. Davis-Stewart posted a line of 12 points, eight boards and four blocks while Kimball added 12 points off the bench
- SNHU's Kylie Lorenzen finished the game with highs of 28 points and 16 rebounds on 14-of-28 shooting
- The Warriors' three-point defense was spectacular, holding the Penmen to 1-of-16 shooting from distance
- SNHU owned a 49-33 edge on the glass and a 16-4 disparity in offensive rebounding that gave the Penmen 11 second-chance points compared to Merrimack's two
