Five Things To Know
- Merrimack will be looking to get back on track against a Holy Cross squad that has just one win in nine games this season (1-7-1). The Warriors have won 30 of the 39 games played against the Crusaders and are 15-1-1 against them dating back to 1985.
- The Warriors are 4-4 in games after losses this year. They have not lost more than two straight games and are 3-0-0 in games played after two straight losses.
- Merrimack ranks second in the nation in one-goal games played, having done so seven times. Only New Hampshire has played more one-goal games nationwide.
- Four of Merrimack's top-five scorers are juniors, headlined by Tyler Irvine's 11 points (4g, 7a), which are a new career-high. Johnathan Kovacevic ranks second and is the top scoring defenseman with nine points (3g, 6a), while freshman Chase Gresock has three goals in his last four games and represents the top-scoring freshman on the team (and third-highest overall scorer) with seven points (3g, 4a).
- Merrimack's power play unit has scored at least one power play goal in eight out of 13 contests, including four games with two power play goals. The Warriors also scored their first shorthanded goal of the season in their 12th game last Saturday against Providence, with rookie Logan Drevitch doing the honors.
