MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Merrimack College baseball program suffered an 18-8 loss to Concordia College on Friday afternoon in the Warriors' second game of the Northeast Challenge in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

- Senior captain Anthony Lupi made his first start of the season for the Warriors against the Clippers. Fellow captain Ricky Smith staked Merrimack to a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second, driving in both runs with a single to score seniors Matt Nicholson and Mike Hoalcraft
- Holding a 3-1 lead in the fourth, Lupi surrendered a grand slam that gave the Clippers a 5-3 lead
- Facing a 6-3 deficit in the bottom of the sixth, the Warriors pulled within one. Graduate student Tyler Lyne continued his strong play in Myrtle with a RBI base knock while a bases-loaded walk resulted in Merrimack's sixth run
- The Clippers blew the game starting in the seventh, putting 12 runs on the board to make the 6-5 game out of reach for the Warriors. Merrimack scored three more in the game, resulting in the 18-8 final
Notes and Notables
- Sophomore Joey Porricelli tied his career high with four hits on the afternoon, falling a homer shy of the cycle
- Classmates Nick Shumski and Connor Suech hit well, with the former posting a two-hit day from the No. 9 spot and the latter recording his first-career base knock in the eighth inning
- Junior Trevor Cooley threw a scoreless ninth, his second perfect relief appearance of the season
