NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's basketball program needs either a win on Saturday against Southern New Hampshire or a Saint Michael's loss to clinch a berth in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship when the Warriors host the Penmen from Hammel Court tomorrow at 1 p.m. The contest will also be celebrated as Alumni Day.
Gameday Promotions:
- The first 100 students at Saturday's game will receive a basketball drawstring bag courtesy of the Athletics Department. One drawstring bag will be given per Mack Card
- The full schedule for Alumni Day came be found here. The basketball programs will be offering complimentary food services and a cash bar through 6 p.m. in the Blue Line Club during Saturday's games
NE10 Postseason Outlook:
The top-five programs in the Northeast Division advance to the NE10 Championship. The fourth-place finisher hosts the No. 5 seed from the Southwest Division, while the fifth-place finisher travels to the No. 4 seed out of the Southwest for the First Round. Seeds No. 1-3 earn byes to the Quarterfinals. Merrimack has four games remaining in the regular season.

- Merrimack dominated Franklin Pierce on Thursday night, leading wire-to-wire in a 29-point triumph
- Sophomore Denia Davis-Stewart posted her fifth double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds to go along with six blocks
- Junior Lindsay Werner hit her 56th three-pointer of the season, setting a new career high after totaling 55 as a sophomore. She moved within six treys of tying the program single-season record set during the 2002-03 season
- The freshmen duo of Mayson Kimball and Alyssa Casey combined for 24 points and 13 rebounds on 9-of-18 shooting
'Mack Facts:
- Even if Merrimack falters against the Penmen, the Warriors can still clinch a postseason berth with a Saint Michael's defeat. The Warriors hold a four-game lead over the Purple Knights with four games to play
- Werner is moving closer and closer to the single-season trey record set by Christina Siragusa 15 years ago, when Siragusa finished with 62 triples
- Davis-Stewart has 59 blocks through 12 games, averaging close to five per contest. She ranks second in the NE10 in total rejections and 18th nationwide
- Werner and Casey maintained their top-10 status in the league in scoring, with Werner ranking fourth (16.7 ppg) and Casey seventh (14.6 ppg)
- After Wednesday's performance, the Warriors currently lead the NE10 in scoring defense (56.2 ppg)
The Penmen:
- Southern New Hampshire is in the midst of its best season in recent memory, coming off a season sweep of No. 7 Bentley on Wednesday
- Junior forward Kylie Lorenzen, who is averaging a career-best 18.5 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per contest, leads the Penmen. Lorenzen is shooting 48.7 percent from the field
- The Penmen also boast a stout defensive unit, limiting opponents to 58.7 points per game
The Series:
- Merrimack and SNHU's first meeting went to overtime after sophomore Giulia Orlando hit a game-tying three-pointer at the buzzer. The Penmen went on to win, however, 68-64
- Despite the loss in December, Merrimack holds a 32-24 lead in the all-times series against SNHU
- The Warriors lost last season's tilt against SNHU at Hammel and are looking to snap a three-game skid overall against the Penmen
