  • The Penmen threatened in the first and second innings, but Cook was able to get out of the situation unscathed.
  • However, the Penmen finally broke through in the third. With Erin Garcynski on second, Emily Critch hit a two-out single to center to score the runner, tying the game at one run.
  • After a scoreless sixth, Merrimack started the seventh with a leadoff double by junior Caitlin McBride. She moved to third on a bunt, before classmate Emily Kurkul ripped a double to right center to score McBride, giving the Warriors a 2-1 lead.
  • After Merrimack retired the first two batters in the seventh, Perdigao hit a deep two-out triple to right field. The home team tied the game on an infield single by Garcynski.
  • With the international tiebreaker in place, the Warriors had freshman Elizabeth McCoy placed on second. She moved to third on a wild pitch, before junior Hannah Johnson dropped down a bunt just down the third base line to bring in the freshman.
  • The Penmen tied the game in the 10th. After loading the bases with no outs, Sarah Lavallee hit a sacrifice fly to right field, deep enough to score Maddy Barone. Again, the bases were loaded after an intentional walk. Coralie Mathieu won it for the Penmen, lifting a fly ball to shallow left, but deep enough to score Perdigao from third.
