Rapid Recap
- Merrimack piled on 13 goals in the first half while pitching a shutout on the defensive end of the turf. Among the highlights in the opening 30 minutes were sophomore Ally DaCosta setting the program's single-game assists record (7) in less than eight minutes, while junior Bridget Schofield recorded a trick over that span as a quartet of Warriors had multiple goals in the first half. Sophomore Cailin Bahret, who returned just this week from injury, scored the first two goals of her collegiate career in the first half, as well.
- The Warriors would empty the bench over the remainder of the game, as nearly every healthy player on the roster saw time at one point or another. Freshmen Brooke Jackson and Tristen Novak netted their first two collegiate goals early in the stanza as well, while senior Alexa Petzold wound up playing the final 45-plus minutes in net and yielded just two goals.
Top Performances
- DaCosta became the second player this year to record eight points in a single game, joining junior Amber Feminella in that feat. DaCosta's day was highlighted by her program-record eight-assist performance, all of which came in the first eight minutes of the game.
- Schofield was the lone Warrior with a hat trick, mainly because the wealth was spread across different 11 goal-scorers for the home side. In addition to Schofield, Novak, Ruggiero, Bartlett, Dzialo and Bahret all had two-goal outings, while Novak and freshman Lulu Sweeney also had two assists apiece.
- Schofield and classmate Erin Blomberg had two caused turnovers apiece, while junior Olivia Colletti (5), Bahret (4) and freshman Catherine Mahanna (4) combined for 13 of Merrimack's 17 won draw controls.
- Junior Lauren Trepaney started again and was perfect through 14 minutes with one save before giving way to Petzold, who stopped one shot over 45:36 in net.
