NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's volleyball program returns to action Thursday evening when the Warriors meet Saint Anselm College in a non-conference match from Stoutenburgh Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
Last Time Out:
- Over this past weekend, the Warriors traveled to the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Wilmington University.
- In a match against Chestnut Hill, the Warriors were highlighted by senior captain Sofia Basauri, who had eight kills on 20 attacks for a .300 hitting percentage.
- Junior Rosie Sperduto also had positive contributions with her fourth double-double of the season against Jefferson (14 assists, 11 digs). The starting setter was also named to the weekend's all-tournament team
- Freshmen Kayla Zinser, Natasha Vallis, and Kara Haase all posted career bests in kills in separate matches during the tournament. The underclassmen tallied six, nine, and four kills respectively.
Mack Facts:
- Junior Catherine Flaherty comes into the match as the team leader in kills with 68, as well as tied for the lead in service aces with seven.
- Freshman Sophie Meyers is the team leader in blocks with 21.0, leading the next closest teammate by 13.0.
Inside the Series:
- Heading into the 28th meeting between Merrimack and Saint Anselm since 2005, the Warriors look to win their first match since a 3-0 victory on October eighth of 2015.
- Despite recent trouble vs. Saint Anselm, Merrimack is 18-9 since 2005.
- Saint Anselm is coming into the match on a two-match winning streak, defeating Pace (3-2) and Mercy (3-0).
