KINGSTON, R.I. – The Merrimack College women's tennis program took its talents on the road to face the Atlantic-10's University of Rhode Island on Thursday afternoon, falling by a 7-0 margin at the URI Tennis Courts in Kingston, R.I.

- Merrimack faced its first Division I opponent since last spring when the Warriors took down the College of Holy Cross
- The Rams won all three doubles matches to claim the point entering singles. First and third doubles finished with 6-2 scores, while the second flight ended in 6-1 fashion
- Freshman Hope Salts played the closest match of the singles flight at No. 6. The Californian fell in the opener, 6-3, before a 6-2 decision ended things in the second frame
- Seniors Mana Seifeai and Lauren Persson played a first and second singles, respectively, while sophomore Cassie Restrepo, freshman Rosemary Campanella and junior Mia Briggs rounded out the lineup at No. 3-5
