NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Looking for it second win of the current five-match homestand, the Merrimack College women's volleyball program plays its second straight non-conference contest on Saturday afternoon against Saint Rose at 1 p.m. from Hammel Court. The Warriors topped Franklin Pierce, 3-2, earlier this week before a three-set defeat on Thursday against SNHU.
Last Time Out:
- The Penmen bested the Warriors in three sets (25-10, 25-18, 25-9) on Thursday in the first of two meetings this season between the programs
- Junior Sydney Buran led the way with 18 assists, the second most in a single match of her three-year career
- Freshman Sophie Meyers paced the offense with seven kills and a team-best .276 hitting percentage. Classmate Kayla Zinser tied for the match high with a pair of block solos
- Senior Amanda Cain totaled a match-high 11 digs, and now has 32 over the last two matches
Mack Facts:
- The Warriors are one of five Northeast-10 Conference programs tied at 1-1 in the league standings
- Saturday marks the program's non-conference finale. Its remaining 12 matches will all be in NE10 play
- Meyers' .284 hitting percentage ranks 11th league-wide. She is also among the top 15 in the NE10 in blocks per set (0.69)
- Cain sits in 11th in the NE10 in digs per set (3.57), which is on pace to be a career best
