NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – After going 1-1 at home this week, the women's volleyball program dropped in straight sets to the College of Saint Rose Saturday afternoon inside Hammel Court. The game, although between Northeast-10 Conference opponents, did not count toward conference records.

Set Breakdown
- The Warriors came out firing, going point-for-point with the Golden Knights. They didn't trail by more than two points until just over the halfway mark, when a timeout allowed Saint Rose to go on a run. Merrimack trailed 16-13 until the Golden Knights' tear, thanks to three kills by senior Sofia Basauri. Saint Rose capped off a seven point run with kills from Sam Kubik and Stevie Schweitzer.
- The Golden Knights owned the second set, despite senior Katelynn Marr's three-kill performance. The Saint Rose attack was paced by Macey Drezek, who had four straight kills to open up the frame, and finished the set with a kill as well.
- Set number three proved to be the best of the afternoon, with both teams exchanging leads throughout its entirety. After a Saint Rose lead, Merrimack cut back using a set of service points from Basauri. The Golden Knights' four point run was matched by the Warriors, forcing a timeout to be called from the visitors. Junior Catherine Flaherty and Marr both added kills to retain the lead into the teens, and a 3-0 run by the Warriors gave the home team a 17-15 lead. From there, Saint Rose used a three straight kills from Macey Drezek to go up 19-17, and followed up with four straight kills from Megan Mayer to end the set and the match with a 25-19 final.
Top Performers
- Katelynn Marr tallied a season-high eight kills, leading the team's attack.
- Junior Sydney Buran set up 18 assists Saturday afternoon, as well as a pair of kills.
- Senior Amanda Cain locked down defensively, posting 18 digs.
Notes and Notables
- Seven of the nine wins to the Golden Knights' credit has come on straight sets.
- Merrimack will travel to Saint Rose October 19th for their conference match.
