NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's volleyball program aims to finish their five-game home stand with a win as they take on Saint Anselm in another Northeast-10 Conference match this Saturday at 7 p.m. from Hammel Court.
Last Time Out:
- Merrimack's last match came on Tuesday night against the University of New Haven
- The Warriors began the match strongly as freshman Kayla Zinser recorded two kills early to give Merrimack a slight two-point lead
- The Warriors remained close with the Chargers into the teens, but New Haven went on a run to eventually win the set 25-18
- The second set proved to be one of the best of the season for the Warriors as they surged to a quick 8-2 lead behind points from seniors Katelyn Marr and Sofia Basauri as well as freshman Sophie Meyers
- In the middle of the set, Meyers recorded consecutive kills to withstand a New Haven surge
- Merrimack tied the set at 22 before New Haven pulled in front again to win the set 25-23
- In the third set, New Haven showed why they are the No. 6 ranked team in the country as they began the set with a 7-1 run and did not look back as they went on to win the set, 25-9 and the match, 3-0
