NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – With only two more games remaining against the Southwest Division before the stretch run of the 2018-19 season begins, the Merrimack College women's basketball program hosts its final Southwest foe of the year on Tuesday night when the Warriors welcome American International to campus. Tip-off from Hammel Court is set for 5:30 p.m.

Five Things to Know:
- The Warriors are coming off one of their most complete efforts of the season, handing the University of New Haven a 19-point defeat last Wednesday. The Chargers entered the game ranking second in the Northeast-10 Conference in 3-point field goal defense, but Merrimack sank 15 against them to build an insurmountable lead. The 15 treys marked the most hit on the Warriors' home floor in a decade
- Merrimack's 15 makes and 34 attempts from were both the second most of the season for the Warriors. As a team, Merrimack enters the week leading the NE10 and ranking 13th nationwide with 171 3-pointers made. The team needs to hit 13 more to set a new single-season record for triples
- Four Warriors have hit at least 30 triples to date: senior Lindsay Werner (44), freshman Kate Mager (40), sophomore Alyssa Casey (35) and sophomore Mayson Kimball (32). Werner leads the team with a scoring average of 15.2 points per game, and is 60 points shy of becoming the first member of Merrimack's 1,000-point club since 2015 and 21st player overall
- Junior Denia Davis-Stewart and senior Karlee Alves also represent two of the top premier individual defenders in the conference. The former leads the NE10 and all of Division II with 76 total blocks, while averaging a career-best 12.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. The latter paces the Warriors with 65 total steals, ranking second in the NE10 and sixth in the country. Alves' 8.5 assists per game at the most nationwide while her 161 total helpers are 23 shy of a new single-season mark
- AIC enters Tuesday with a 2-5 record over its last seven games, and a 2-4 mark against the Northeast Division. The Yellow Jackets boast one of the region's top players in senior Dana Watts, who is averaging 21.2 points and 11.1 rebounds per game to lead thte team in both areas. Watts also has recorded impressive shooting percentages, boasting a line of .498/.350/.835
Series History:
- AIC has controlled the all-time series, owning a 41-15 record in 56 previous meetings against Merrimack
- Merrimack has won two of the last four meetings, however, including a win last season in Springfield. The Warriors' last win over AIC at Hammel Court was in the 2014-15 season
- Last season, Werner guided Merrimack to victory with nearly half of the Warriors' scoring output in a 60-54 win. The shooting guard totaled 29 points on 8-of-21 shooting and 9-of-10 makes at the line
