NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's ice hockey team jumps back into Hockey East action this weekend, playing a two-game slate at the University of Vermont this Friday and Saturday. The weekend double-header will wrap up the Warriors' three-game series against the Catamounts; Merrimack took game one against Vermont during Homecoming Weekend.
The Warriors had last weekend off, playing its most recent games in New Jersey against #5 Princeton on December 30-31. After tying the Tigers in game one, Merrimack dropped a 5-3 contest on day two. Its last contest against a Hockey East opponent came on December 8
th, with a compelling 1-0 victory over #9 Boston College, which sent the program into winter break on a high note.
Merrimack currently sits fifth in the Hockey East standings, just one point behind Boston University with 15. With Northeastern commanding the standings with 26 points, there are six teams all within six points of each other – BU, Merrimack, UConn, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

- Freshman Gabby Jones earned her first Hockey East weekly award during the Warriors' last showing, her Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week honor came after a game-tying goal with just over a minute left in the third period against Princeton in the 1-1 draw.
- Vermont is coming off a two games on the road last weekend against #7 Providence, taking down the Friars in overtime in a five-goal effort.
- The Catamounts have scored 19 goals in its last six games; in the games the program has been victorious in, its averaged 4.13 goals per game.
- Merrimack leads the conference in both power play percentage (25.0%) and special teams net (+10).
- After this weekend, the Warriors will have completed its third regular season series against a Hockey East opponent, having already wrapped up against both Boston College and Holy Cross.
