NORTH ANDOVER, Mass – The Merrimack College men's soccer program will head to New York this weekend to take on a pair of NEC opponents. The first game will be Friday when the Warriors take on fellow NEC newcomer Long Island University at 3 p.m. The Warriors will then head to Brooklyn to take on St. Francis. Kickoff is set of 1 p.m.
Five Things to Know:
- After his two goal performance last Friday, sophomore forward Tola Showunmi is now tied for the team lead in goals with junior Filippo Begliardi Ghidini and senior Aasmund Joedahl.
- Grad student Lucas Rezende now has 21 career shutouts after the Warriors 6-0 victory against Robert Morris.
- The six goal game last Friday was the most goals scored by a Warriors team since the 2014 season when they scored seven against AIC
- Merrimack has 58 shots on goal this season
- This will be the first time Merrimack will play Long Island University and St Francis Brooklyn in men's soccer.
