NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's volleyball program will play consecutive matches in the state of Connecticut this weekend, beginning with non-conference action at the University of Hartford on Thursday night (7 p.m.). Merrimack will then return to Northeast Conference (NEC) play on Friday, battling Central Connecticut State at Detrick Gymnasium.

Five Things to Know:
  • Senior Catherine Flaherty has led Merrimack's offensive attack, totaling 118 kills and over two kills per set. Her 127.5 points on the season lead all Warriors
  • After Flaherty, Merrimack's offensive numbers are dominated by underclassmen – a good sign for the future of the program. Sophomores Natasha Vallis and Kara Haase are second and fourth on the team, respectively, in kills while freshman Lily Blodgett and Luna Colozzo rank third and fifth to round out the top five
  • In recent matches, sophomore Megan Rumenapp and senior Sydney Buran have picked up increased setting duties; senior Rosie Sperduto still leads the squad with an average of nearly six assists per frame
  • On the defensive end, freshman Taelyr Czech remains the team's leader in digs with 157 on the year. Sperduto is also averaging over two digs per frame from her setter position
  • Thursday's match will mark Hartford's final non-league affair of the season; the Hawks sit evenly at .500 on the season. CCSU sits two games above .500 in league play, and won the opener with Merrimack earlier this season at Hammel Court
