BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – The Merrimack College women's volleyball team completed its first Division I season Saturday when they fell to St. Francis Brooklyn in three sets. Merrimack improved in all three sets, but the host Terriers were able to put the Warriors away in three (25-13 | 25-16 | 25-22).

Set Breakdown
- Senior Catherine Flaherty opened the game strong for the Warriors with two kills giving Merrimack its first two points of the set. Sophomore Natasha Vallis brought the Warriors within one with a kill, making the score, 5-4, early in the set. Merrimack was able to hang around early and had the scored tied at 6 on an error from the Terriers. The Terriers were able to distance themselves in the set while winning eight of the next twelve points. Merrimack was unable to overcome the run and the Terriers took the first set, 25-13.
- Once again, Merrimack started the second set strongly. The Warriors got out to an early 3-2 lead when freshman Emily Adams sent home a kill. The Warriors won two of the next three points on errors from the Terriers and enjoyed their first two-point lead of the match at 5-3. Merrimack took the early momentum and ran with it as freshman Taylor Sawyer spiked home a kill to take the 8-7 lead. The Terriers countered with a 13-5 run of their own, paving the way to a 25-16 set victory
- The Warriors did not go down without a fight in the third set. For much of the third set, the score alternated back and forth and the Warriors found themselves knotted up at 8-all. Merrimack then was able to rally off three straight points capped of on a kill from Vallis, giving them an 11-8 advantage. Merrimack had three-point advantages at both 15-12 and 17-14. The Terriers were able to fight off the surge from the Warriors, and took control of the final set of play.

- Sawyer ended her season with her best hitting performance of her year, striking a team-best seven kills without an error on 11 total attacks. She hit a season-best .636
- Sophomore Megan Rumenapp and senior Rosie Sperduto split setting duties, tying for the team lead with nine assists each
- Adams notched two block assist on the night while classmate Taelyr Czech contributed a team-best nine digs
