Denia Davis-Stewart, the Merrimack College women's basketball team beat UMass Lowell on Saturday afternoon. The double-double was Casey's second and Davis-Stewart's Northeast Conference (NEC) leading seventh of the season. Freshman
Jayme DeCesare chipped in with 10 points and six assists on the afternoon.

- Right off of the tip, the Warriors came out firing, going on a 7-0 run highlighted by a Casey three ball. She stayed hot in the quarter going 5-6 from long range going for 15 points in the quarter. Merrimack ended the quarter with a 14 point lead.
- The Warriors attacked the paint with Davis-Stewart early on in the second quarter. She had eight points in the first half of the quarter all in the paint and from the line. Casey ended the quarter with a three after an UMass turnover to put the Warriors up 16 heading into the locker room.
- After the break, on the first possession of the third quarter DeCesare found the bottom of the net with a three to put Merrimack up 19. Sophomore Kate Mager had two threes in the quarter for Merrimack. She went 2-3 from long range on the day. With 17 seconds remaining DeCesare hit a layup to put Merrimack up 26 heading into the final frame.
- A three ball by Davis-Stewart gave Merrimack its largest lead of the game at 31. UMass Lowell cut the lead to 24 midway through the quarter, but it wasn't enough. Freshman Alana Fursman knocked down a three to put the Warriors up 25 late in the fourth quarter.
Notes and Numbers
- The two double-doubles from Casey and Davis-Stewart are the first time teammates have both accomplished the feat in the same game this season.
- The Warriors had a season-high nine steals on the afternoon.
- Merrimack went 12-28 from long range in the game, which is the third most threes in a game this year.
- The Warriors are now 3-10 all-time against UMass Lowell and 1-0 at the Division level.
