CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Facing a future Division I rival in Boston College on Sunday evening, the Merrimack College men's tennis program suffered a 7-0 defeat in its first of two matches against Division I competition scheduled for this week. The Warriors played their first of 19 matches scheduled this spring against the Eagles, and will face future Northeast Conference opponent Bryant University on Wednesday afternoon in Rhode Island.

- Merrimack trotted out the doubles pairings of junior Denis Davydov and freshman Conrad Koch (No. 1), junior Alex Fedorov and freshman Jonathan Garcia (No. 2) as well as junior Tyler Clontz and freshman Alec Mackay Rodriguez (No. 3) to face the Eagles' three duos. Merrimack's first pairing of Davydov and Koch fared the best, winning three of the nine games played at the top flight
- In singles, Fedorov's match at the third flight went the distance. After falling in his opener, the former Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Year triumphed, 7-6, in the second set to force a 10-point breaker. The tiebreak went in favor of BC's Alexander Chieffalo, 10-5.
- Two Warriors played in singles who did not take the court during the doubles portion of the match. Freshman Andre Singer played at the fifth flight, winning three games in each of his two sets. Junior Paul Weidinger competed at sixth singles, making his spring debut after an all-league campaign in his first season with Merrimack last year
