LANTANA, Fla.  – Playing against each other for the second time in as many days, the Merrimack College baseball program failed to sweep Adelphi University down in Florida as the Panthers claimed a 4-0 win on Friday afternoon from the Santaluces Athletic Complex in Lantana, Fla. The Warriors will look to complete their seven-game week in the Sunshine State with a 5-2 record when Merrimack faces Southern Connecticut tomorrow at Santaluces at 11 a.m.

- Sophomore Vin Zappulla took the ball for the second time this week for Merrimack. After a scoreless top of the first, the Panthers utilized three singles in the bottom half to open at 1-0 lead
- With the score still at 1-0 in the top of the fourth, junior Thomas Joyce, senior William Keegan and sophomore Thomas Crowley all reached base for the Warriors with two outs. Senior Cory Wasylow grounded out to shortstop, however, as Joyce was left at third base
- Adelphi built some insurance in the bottom of the fifth, benefitting from a pair of Merrimack fielding errors to score three runs. The Panthers took a 4-0 edge into the sixth frame
- Senior Trevor Cooley replaced Zappulla with two outs in the sixth, and stranded a pair of Panthers to keep Merrimack's deficit at four. Cooley did not allow a run over the entirety of his 2.1-inning outing, but the Warriors' bats were silenced over the day's final four frames

- Despite the defeat, Zappulla equaled his season high with six punch outs on the day. He leads the staff with 24.0 innings and 18 strikeouts over four appearances
- Cooley posted his second scoreless relief appearance over his last three outings
- Keegan, senior Anthony Garbarino and freshman Michael Golankiewicz accounted for Merrimack's hits on the day
