HARTFORD, Conn.  – After calling an audible Wednesday morning that saw the Merrimack College baseball program and American International College move their scheduled non-conference contest from AIC's Bedard Field to Trinity College's Murren Family Field in Hartford, Conn., the Warriors took it to the Yellow Jackets to the tune of a 10-run onslaught that saw Merrimack win by a final of 10-2.
Senior
Cam Monagle made his second start in six days, and for the second time in as many outings threw seven quality innings. The Cambridge, Mass. native punched out 10 Yellow Jackets. Junior
Nick Shumski led the offense with three hits in his first three at-bats while senior
Cory Wasylow connected on his first homer of the year.

- Merrimack jumped on AIC early, scoring twice in the top of the second. Junior Thomas Joyce drove in Shumski to make it a 1-0 game while sophomore Thomas Crowley followed with a RBI single back up the middle that scored senior Matthew Ronai, providing the Warriors with a 2-0 edge without even taking the field
- Monagle needed just five pitches in the bottom of the first, making his second start of the year. In the top of the second, Shumski hit his second single in as many innings to plate sophomore Michael Jamele to account for Merrimack's third run of the day
- Shumski's strong day continued in the top of the fourth, tripling to knock in a pair of runs. AIC responded in the bottom half with a two-run homer, bringing the its deficit back to three, 5-2, through four frames
- Monagle did not allow a run over the rest of his outing, working seven full frames for the second consecutive start. The Warriors' bats provided insurance markers with a three-run seventh, scoring on a balk, another run-scoring single for Crowley and Wasylow's solo shot
- Junior Dylan Stevens came on in the eighth and tossed a hitless inning of relief. Merrimack proceeded to tack on two more runs in the ninth, brings its run total to double digits. Senior Riley Sorenson retired three of four batters in the bottom half to complete the victory

- The 6-5 righty struck out a career-best 10 batters, besting her previous high of nine strikeouts during his sophomore year. He finished the outing with 15 punch outs on the year, moving into third on the team
- Shumski finished the afternoon by going 3-for-5 at the dish, posting his fifth multi-hit game of the year and second with at least three base knocks
- Wasylow struck the first round-tripper of his career, appearing in his 53rd career game on Wednesday over parts of three seasons
