- Freshman Andre Singer won four of the first five games he played in his opening set at No. 6 before winning his opener, 6-4. He then put an exclamation point on his victory with a loud fore-hand winner to clinch his second set, 6-3, and make it a 2-0 contest
- After needing a tiebreak to win his first set, junior Denis Davydov proceeded to win his second set by a two-game margin, 6-4, to move the Warriors within one point of victory. Fedorov promptly clinched the tilt, recovering from a second-set loss to win third singles in three, 7-6 (4), 3-6, 6-3, to send Merrimack on to the semifinals
