BURLINGTON, Vt.  – Sophomore Juliane Ohmen scored her first goal of the season and graduate student plus older sister Katharina Ohmen registered her third 14-save game of the regular season, but the Merrimack College field hockey program fell, 4-1, on Friday against the University of Vermont from Moulton Winder Field.

Rapid Recap
  • Katharina Ohmen made four first-quarter saves, but the Catamounts potted their first goal of the day near the 10-minute mark of the frame
  • Junior Colleen Ellis attempted Merrimack's first shot of the day earlier in the second quarter, but it was saved. The hosts were able to tally once more, within five minutes of the half, to double their lead. Vermont tacked on one more to take a 3-0 edge into halftime
  • Ohmen's goal came in the final five minutes, when Merrimack won a penalty corner. Senior Miranda Judd fed the second-year attacker, who finished the Warriors' shot
Notes and Figures
  • After an all-rookie campaign, Ohmen found the back of the net for the first time in 2019. She finished her freshman season with four goals and four assists for 12 points
  • Judd moved into the team lead in assists with her second helper of the year. She has recorded an assist in two straight contests
  • Katharina Ohmen entered the day leading the NEC in saves per game (10.50); she increased that value Friday, increasing her season total to 56 saves over five contests
