NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College football program hosts Mayville State University on Saturday at 1 p.m. from Duane Stadium, welcoming the Comets to campus. The Warriors bring a 1-2 record into week four, and return to campus after playing two road games last week against fellow Northeast Conference (NEC) opponents Central Connecticut State University and Saint Francis University.

Game Day Events:
- Artis Holt '14: Before Saturday's game, the football program will honor Artis Holt', who was a star member for the football program earlier this decade. The team will honor the life of its former captain as part of a pregame ceremony before kickoff on Saturday. Fans are asked to be in their seats by 12:45 p.m. to experience the ceremony. - The Warriors will be sponsoring a t-shirt toss throughout Saturday's game against Mayville State. At the end of the first, second and third quarters, be sure to be ready to get your t-shirt!
- Merrimack College Greek Life will be sponsoring a student tailgate in Saint Clare Court, the quad within Deegan and Ash residence halls. A live D-J and food will be provided to all students in attendance. The tailgate begins at 11 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m.

Series History:
- Merrimack and Mayville will play each other for the first time on Saturday
- The Comets are one of seven first-time opponents for the Warriors in 2019
Who are the Comets:
- Located in Mayville, North Dakota, the Coments have made the 25-hour venture to Duane Stadium.
- And that's just the drive time. Mayville State University is part of the North Dakota University System, and is a public university within the state. Athletically, the Coments compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
- As of the 2018-19 season, the NAIA featured 251 member institutions including two located in British Columbia.
- The Comets will bring an impressive offense with them to campus, ranking among the top five in the NAIA in first downs per game, total offensive yards per game, scoring offense per game and in rushing defense.
- The Comets have averaged over 500 yards per game and scored over 50 points per contest this season.
Strong Start on O:
- Merrimack has averaged 32.0 points per game through three weeks, which ranks third in the NEC
- Sophomore Christian Carter has completed over 55 percent of his passes for 613 yards and five touchdowns. On the ground, redshirt-sophomore Jamari Venter has 132 yards on 25 carries, averaging 5.0 yards per carry.
- Redshirt-senior wide receiver Marquis Spence has led the receiving core, hauling in 19 passes for 180 yards and three scores
The Takeaway Department
- Both redshirt-junior Michael Mercuri and redshirt-sophomore Darion McKenzie have posted interception returns for touchdowns over the last two weeks.
- Merrimack has five interceptions this season, tied for the second most in the NEC
- Overall, the team has accumulated seven takeaways this year
