Women's Soccer Scores Five-Goal Burst on Senior Day

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass— The Merrimack College Warriors women's soccer squad earned the program's first Division I home win, downing the Manhattan College Jaspers 5-3 on Sunday.

After honoring the program's five graduating seniors, Merrimack opened the match behind. In the 18', freshman Vanessa Wainwright tallied the first goal of her career to bring the game back even. Three goals in the second half would push Merrimack to victory.

  • Perpetual power off the bench, junior Izzy McDonnell scored her second of the year to give the Warriors a 2-1 lead in the 28'
  • Merrimack scored two goals in two and a half minutes to double their lead, with junior Bridget Austin scoring her second of the year in the 52' before junior Taylor Robertson fired home her second goal this campaign in the 55'
  • Freshman Molly Murnane sealed the victory in the 84' with her first career goal for the 5-3 final

  • Junior Nicole Langlois had two assists in the game, with junior Katelyn Richardson adding her own helper
  • Robertson added an assist for a three-point afternoon, taking the team lead with five points
  • Wainwright also scored her first career assist with a helper on McDonnell's goal in the first half
  • Senior keeper Erin Fulton made five saves in the game and earned a secondary assist on the fifth goal of the afternoon
