NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College football program aims for its second straight victory and first this season against a FCS opponent this Saturday when the Warriors travel to Bethelem, Pa. to face Lehigh University for the first time in program history. Kickoff against the Patriot League foes is set for 12:30 p.m. at Goodman Stadium

- Located in Bethlehem, PA the Mountain Hawks have started 0-3 on the season with losses against NEC opponent Saint Francis (PA), nationally ranked Villanova, UC Davis
- Lehigh is a pass first offense behind quarterback Tyler Monaco who has a 46% completion percentage. Monaco has also thrown for 694 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in

- On the other side of the ball the Mountain Hawks are led by senior linebacker Keith Woetzel who has 32 tackles on the season.
Strong Start on O:
- Led by sophomore signal-caller Christian Carter, a diverse rushing attack and a deep receiving core, Merrimack's offense has been firing on all cylinders.
- Merrimack has averaged 43.0 points per game through four weeks, which ranks best in the NEC.
- Carter has completed 57 percent of his passes for 819 yards and nine touchdowns
- On the ground, redshirt-sophomore Jamari Venter has 234 yards on 34 carries, averaging 6.6 yards per carry. Sophomore Matt Brehon also impressed last week with two rushing scores of over 70 yards
- Sophomore Johnny Rosario has led the receiving core, hauling in 10 passes for 262 yards and three scores. Redshirt-senior Marquis Spence boasts five touchdown grabs on the year to lead the team, needing two more to set a career high
- Merrimack's 76 points matched Ohio State last week for the most points for a Division I institution, across both FBS and FCS levels
The Takeaway Department
- Merrimack leads the NEC in interception-returns-for-touchdowns with three on the year. The trio of redshirt-junior Michael Mercuri, redshirt-sophomore Darion McKenzie and junior Bryce Smith have returned picks to the house this season
- Merrimack has six interceptions in total on the year
- Overall, the team has accumulated eight takeaways this year, adding a pair of fumble recoveries
