Women’s Volleyball Looks to Shine in Tri-Match at SNHU

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's volleyball program will have two opportunities to get their first victory of the season this Saturday when they partake in a tri-match against SNHU (10 a.m.) and Saint Michaels (12 p.m.) at the Stan Spirou Field House in Manchester, NH.  

Five Things to Know:

• The Warriors are young, sporting seven freshman on the team. The newcomers include Luna Collozo, Taylor Sawyer, Emily Adams, Taelyr Czech, Maegan Hladick, Taylor Vartanian, and Lily Blodgett                                                                                                                                    
• Out of the 18 team members, 13 of them are underclassmen with only four returning seniors
• The Warriors were ranked 9^th in the preseason polls for the Northeast Conference (NEC). The team will play a full league schedule this fall, but are ineligible for postseason due to the NCAA's reclassification period in Division I
• Senior captain Catherine Flaherty will return as an outside hitter and look to build off last season's success. At Providence on Wednesday, Flaherty's .143 hitting percentage was the highest on the team
• Sophomore Natasha Vallis posted a career-best 16 attacks in Wednesday's opener while adding a service ace and block assist to her team-best 6.5 points against the Friars
