NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's basketball team will play a home game for the first time in over two weeks when they face off against Fairleigh Dickinson University on Monday at 7 p.m. In their last game the Warriors defeated Saint Francis (PA) 71-56. Five Things to Know:
- Senior Denia Davis-Stewart is closing in on a massive career milestone. She needs only 32 more rebounds to become the second player in Merrimack College women's basketball history with 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds. The only other player to accomplish the feat in a Warrior uniform is Stacy Knapp who played for Merrimack from 1998-2002. In addition, Davis-Stewart leads the country in blocks with 85 on the season, the next closest player has 81.
- Sophomore guard Kate Mager is shooting three-pointers at a 43% clip, which leads the team. Mager has made 45 threes so far this season, which is 14 more than Davis-Stewart who is in second place.
- Freshman point guard Jayme DeCesare has been as consistent as you can be so far this season for the Warriors. The Rhode Island native is leading the NEC with a 2.4 assist to turnover ratio. DeCesare has 64 assists to only 27 turnovers through 18 games this season.
- Head coach Monique LeBlanc needs one more victory to become the winningest coach women's basketball coach in Merrimack College history. The pervious record of 120 wins was set by Debbie Cogan who achieved the mark while coaching the Warriors from 1986-1999.
- The Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson are currently 7-11 on the season, which includes going 4-3 in NEC play. They are led in scoring by junior Madison Stanley so averages 12.3 points per game.
