Denia Davis-Stewart earned her 16
th double-double of the season after scoring 15 points and pulling in 15 rebounds. The fourth-year forward also had four blocks on the afternoon. Freshman point guard
Jayme DeCesare added 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Graduate student
Courtney Clasen and sophomore
Kate Mager were the other two Warriors in double-figures scoring 11 and 10 each.

- Merrimack jumped out to an early 13-5 advantage. Threes by Clasen, Davis-Stewart, and DeCesare set the pace for the Warrior offense. Long Island battled back to cut the lead to two after a Brandy Thomas jumper. Freshman Kaylee Thomas knocked down a layup with seven seconds left in the first to tie the score at 19 heading into the second quarter.
- The second quarter started with the Warriors going up by four after two Mager free throws. The Sharks then went on a 10-0 that was capped off by a Jeydah Johnson three. The Warriors cut the Shark advantage to three late in the quarter, but ended up being down five heading into the locker rooms.
- Mager put the Warriors down two after hitting deep threes on back-to-back possessions. Thomas responded by hitting two jumpers in a row putting LIU up five again. The Sharks maintained the lead of five until Thomas knocked down another mid-range jump shot with 10 seconds remaining to put LIU up seven heading into the final frame.
- A DeCesare drive in the lane put Merrimack down five early in the quarter. LIU responded by going on a 5-0 run putting them up 10 with just under five minutes to play. DeCesare cut the lead to six on another drive to the hoop. Thomas knocked down two free throws for LIU. On the next possession Clasen knocked down a three to cut the Sharks advantage to five.
