Five Things To Know
  • The Warriors took on top-10 nationally ranked Boston College in a home-and-home set last weekend. Merrimack scored first Friday night at Lawler Rink, but the Eagles fought back to claim a 3-2 win. In Chestnut Hill, BC scored two goals in all three periods, as they topped the visitors by a 6-2 final. Regan Kimens scored a goal in both games and Tyler Drevitch registered his first career multi-point game Saturday on two assists.
  • Merrimack is set to honor five seniors Saturday night in the team's final home game of the campaign. Tyler Drevitch, Tyler Irvine, Patrick Kramer, Griff Jeszka and Sami Tavernier are all set to be honored for their contributions to the program. The group has combined for 511 career collegiate games entering the weekend and 190 points. All have played their entire career for the Warriors, except for Jeszka, who played two seasons previously for UMass.
  • After he sat out the first semester, Patrick Holway has been on a tear since getting back into game action. After he didn't get on the scoresheet in his first three games as a Warrior, he has tallied nine points in his last 11 games on the strength of three goals and six assists. He's also registered a pair of multi-point games and has four power play points, all on assists.
  • After a lengthy battle for the starting goaltender spot, Jere Huhtamaa has been the primary option down the stretch. The Finnish freshman has started the past five games entering the weekend and has given up three or less goals in three of those games. He also made 36 saves in a 5-1 win over Boston University Feb. 7.
  • The Friars took three out of four points in a two-game set at Vermont last weekend and have won just one game in their last five. Jack Dugan leads the country in scoring, as he's racked up 49 points in 30 games on nine goals and 40 assists.
