NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College men's ice hockey team looks to get back in the win column this weekend with a home-and-home series against New Hampshire set to start Friday up in the Granite State.

Five Things To Know
  • Fifth-year forward Patrick Kramer has honed his craft and become an elite faceoff man in the NCAA. In the past three games, he's compiled a .643 faceoff percentage, which included a 13-for-16 performance Jan. 16 at Boston College. Among players that have taken at least 100 draws, he ranks 16th in the country with a .573 success rate.
  • Dominic Dockery has enjoyed his best season to date in a Warrior sweater so far in 2020-21. The senior rearguard is nearly halfway to his career-high in points in a season after just eight games and is tied for ninth in the country (2nd in Hockey East) in blocked shots per game with 2.38.
  • Freshly minted New York Islander draft pick Alex Jefferies has quickly assimilated to the college game. He leads the Warriors in goals (4), points (7) and shots on goal (37) as a freshman. His 4.62 shots per game is the most in the country for rookies and leads all of Hockey East.
  • All Hockey East teams have had plenty of shuffling to their schedule so far this season, but no one has been dealt a tougher hand than the Warriors. All eight of Merrimack's games so far have come against nationally ranked opponents. According to the national polls, no one in the country has had a tougher start to the year and Penn State is the only other team in the land that played their first eight against nationally ranked foes.
  • The Wildcats have struggled defensively recently, as they've allowed 24 goals during their current four-game slide. Jackson Pierson has emerged to lead the Wildcats in scoring with 11 points in the same number of games. Mike Robinson has started all but one game in net and holds a 3.03 GAA and a .895 save percentage entering Friday.
