NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack women's ice hockey team looks to kickstart its momentum against the No. 4/4 Northeastern Huskies in a home-and-home series.

Merrimack is coming off a pair of games against the UNH Wildcats, coming up short in both. In the first, the Warriors PK was 3-for-4, with sophomore goaltender Emma Gorski facing 42 shots on goal. On Saturday in New Hampshire, freshman netminder Aries Mustoe made her collegiate debut, making 28 saves against the Wildcats, including a 12 save opening period.

Quick Hits:
• First years have contributed big minutes thus far in the year, with defender Raice Szott and winger Hannah Corneliusen earning starting shifts and time on the top defensive pair and line, respectively.
• On Friday, the Warriors will make their second appearance on NESN, after competing against Boston College on the network on January 8. Assistant captain Dominika Laskova scored the game's first goal before the host Eagles stretched into the lead. In the final five minutes of the game, Merrimack notched two on a power play, with Kiki Roust and Katie Kaufman tallying with an extra attacker to make it a 5-3 final.
• Seniors Courtney Maud and Megan Fergusson are both in the top-20 for Hockey East's total faceoff wins, earning 88 and 65 wins in the dot respectively.
 • Emma Gorski sits in the top-10 across the Hockey East goaltending leaderboards. Her .909 save percentage is eighth in the league, and tenth in goals against average.

A Look at the Huskies:
Northeastern has stayed true to form since taking the Hockey East crown at Lawler Rink on March 8. The Huskies started their season in mid-December and have turned a 9-0-1 record since the new year. Alina Mueller continues to lead the offense with six goals and 15 points in 11 games, with Chloe Aurard notching five goals so far on the year. Skylar Fontaine has had two power play goals and nine points on the season. In goal, senior Aerin Frankel continues to make an impact, earning five shutouts and eight wins along with a .971 save percentage.

In their last meeting, Merrimack fell to Northeastern 3-0 on Feb. 22, 2020. The Warriors last won against the Huskies on October 28, 2016 in a 3-2 victory at Matthews Arena.
