How It Happened
  • Merrimack opened up the game's scoring in the first period. On the power play, Teghan Inglis handled the puck from the point, sending it down low to Courtney Maud along the goal line. Maud sent the puck into the paint where a driving Ally Qualley sent it in for her second goal of the weekend.
  • Vermont's offense again jumped ahead in the second period with an opening minute goal. The visitors boosted their lead with two more goals in the middle frame to extend their lead.
  • The Warriors made it a one goal game late in the second period. From a strong forecheck, Merrimack worked the puck up high in the offensive zone, where defender Kiki Roust managed it. She held the puck, sending it over to Natalie Nemes for a one timer from the high slot where she fired home her first career goal.
  • The Catamounts responded with their second opening minute goal of the game, before adding the final goal of the night three minutes into the third.
