Set Breakdown:
Notes and Notables:
  • Ā The first set was one of Merrimack's most consistent performances of the season. The Warriors went back and forth with the Terriers, claiming a handful of multi-point possessions, but were just edged out by the visiting team who finished the set with a three-point run. The Seniors came up big in this set, with Brooke Leestma, Kara Haase, and Sophie Meyers all earning multiple kills.Ā
  • The second set had an identical score to the first and the tempo was similar, in that there was a lot of back and forth between the two teams. However, this time the back and forth nature was on multi-point runs. St. Francis Brooklyn took this one with the help of two, four-point sequences. Brooke Leestma had four points in the set, coming off of two kills and two service aces.
  • The last set was exciting for the Warriors, who may have been counted out too soon. Late in the set Megan Rumenapp came into serve with the score at 16-23 in favor of the visiting team. She led the Warriors on a come-back attempt that included two service aces and three forced set errors to close the gap to 23-21.
Up Next:
Next up, the Warriors head to Connecticut for their final two matches of the season, against Central Connecticut State University and Sacred Heart. MC vs CCSU will be Friday, November 12 at 7:00 PM.
