How It Happened
- In an active first period, Boston University started the scoring with two within a minute and a half. Merrimack responded to the BU offense with a goal 24 seconds after the Terriers tally to get on the board.
- From inside her own defensive blueline, Kiki Roust handled a pass from deep to set the breakout for the Warriors. Roust sent a stretch pass through the neutral zone to Dominika Laskova inside the zone, who handled and waited for an outlet. Her puck towards the net was cued up for Gabby Jones, unmarked at the side of the crease for the captain's first goal of the season.
- Teams remained scoreless in the second period, despite the Warriors posting a game-high eight shots on goal to keep it as a one-goal game.
- In the third, Merrimack looked to cut into the BU lead, before the Terriers tallied twice in the third to add to their lead. Eight penalties were called between the two teams in the third, holding teams off-kilter through the final 20.
